Dublin Marathon – 40 Years Running

Dublin Marathon – 40 Years Running

The Dublin Marathon has become a major fixture in the Irish running calendar and a new book The Dublin Marathon: Celebrating 40 Years marks a major milestone for the event this year. Written by Sean McGoldrick, a sports journalist for the Sunday World and multiple-time marathon runner, it is introduced by Dick Hooper, three-time Olympian and winner of the very first Dublin Marathon back in 1980.

Join McGoldrick, race director Jim Aughney and Dick Hooper along with Mary Nolan Hickey, a woman who has run every single marathon since its beginning for an evening of memories, stories from some ‘ordinary’ runners and insights into this much-loved Dublin institution.

This event is brought to you in association with South Dublin Sports Partnership.
