The Biographer’s Toolkit: Workshop with Henry Martin

Delivered by an award-winning biographer and creative writing lecturer, this interactive workshop is suitable for (but not limited to) writers of prose, plays, and screenplays. By the end of the workshop, participants will have established a biographical approach or framework for their project, completed a number of creative writing exercises, engaged in class discussion, and identified the key skills and resources needed to research and plan their biography and life writing project.

Henry Martin is author of the biography Agnes Martin: Pioneer, Painter, Icon (Benjamin Franklin Award) and contributor to Great Women Artists (Phaidon). Since 2007 Henry has interviewed and profiled over 100 artists and writers for various publishers. His plays have been performed at Theatre 503, Fishamble, and the Belltable; and he has been published with The Irish Times, Hyperallergic, and New Island.
